Our little girl is already growing up too fast...

So the other night was the first time that Cadence started lifting her head. The video makes me smile everytime I see it!

The rest of the Baby Story

First of all, I want to know who gives a woman in labor a computer?!?! I had no clue that I had blogged the day of delivery...at least not for a couple of days! The rest of labor went very quickly. After I had finished the prior blog, our moms made it back to the hospital in time for me to have those super difficult contractions that started around 8:30 or so. The doctor went ahead and gave me an extra dose of the epidural to help me through it while my mom started the coaching and showing Keith how he could help me. They pretty much got in my face during a contraction and reminded me to breath because I was holding my breath. At one point, my nurse gave me an oxygen mask, which I hated, to help with the breathing. I couldn't stand to wear it because I couldn't wear my glasses, and for some reason the glasses were more important than air! SO, Keith would hold the mask for me when I was having a contractions. I went from 3cm-7cm in an hour and then about 20 minutes later they were ready for me to start pushing. I was having a hard time during my first couple of pushes, so they recommended a mirror which changed things drastically. I did that for about 5 rounds and Cadence was here!!! I can't even describe how I felt at that moment. When she started crying, I just kept saying over and over "That's my baby! I did it, that's my baby!"

Cadence Grace Bourque was born at 11:00am on Thursday, March 26, 2009. She weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 19 3/4 in. I couldn't be more proud of her, Keith and myself. I was shocked at how fast and easy of a delivery I had. In all honesty, I did not expect it to go as quickly and painless as it did. We stayed in the hospital until Saturday afternoon, and by then we were definitly ready to be back! Stay tuned for the next blog that will tell about how the new job as mommy is going!
